FAB magazine July 18, 2010 thedane I absolutely love this magazine, and have been getting it for years now. Upscale but still find things in it I can use (on a small scale) but it's so enjoyable just to look at and keeps you dreaming! A must have if you like decorating and beautiful things.
A good Home Magazine June 12, 2010 Bob Green I have cut way back on my subscriptions to reduce clutter, read more selectively and because a number of titles have folded. This magazine is high quality and offers good pictures of quality homes in styles of homes that I enjoy. I recently saw a 10 page spread on a home recently completed by a couple I know who built a 3rd home on a Lake in Indiana. It was well done and gave the 'flavor' of the house.
Christmas Decorations December 8, 2009 Belle (Richmond, VA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a new subscriber and received my first copy of Traditional Home the end of November. While looking through the pages I developed my house decoration plan for this Chrismas. I have the beautiful Frontage Christmas tree in my family room. Empty boxes wrapped under my formal angel tree in the living room. And two hurricane lamps filled with gold balls with green hydrangea on the top for the centerpiece of my dining room table. I also used new ideas fron TH for garlands on my steps and mantel.
My house has never looked so lovely. Traditional Home gave me simple, but elegant decorations for my colonial home. Wish I had know about this magazine sooner but so glad I have it now. I can't wait for the next issue to arrive.
Gone downhill November 19, 2009 Ripper69 (San Antonio) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have gotten this magazine for several years on and off. I finally let my subscription run out. One reason was that getting the magazine itself was difficult. Issues were always coming up missing, and I almost never ended up with the Christmas issue, even though I had a subscription. They always sold out and never had a back issue to give me. As for the content, I loved it at the beginning. It had it's downside--the items they used were very expensive, but you could get ideas from it. But what made me love it at the beginning is the fact it used Traditional style. That is my style, not modern or contemporary. But in the past few years it has started to shift to contemporary styles. A more contemporary style seems to be what is "in" if you watch HGTV or watch Oprah's decorator, but if I wanted a magazine that covered modern decorating, I would buy a different magazine. When I saw the magazine doing an article on one of the New York Housewives apartments which the show showed in detail, I had a good laugh. The coffee tables spelled out a word, which is not my idea of traditional. How anyone could call that traditional was beyond me. They have floated off into the contemporary style bandwagon and left their dedicated traditionalist readers behind.
